Quincy!
Quincy is here to visit all by himself. We're super excited he's here
and we think he is too :).
Apparently he likes the whip cream more than the actual drink

Our Home
We rented a small apt instead of staying in a hotel. We loved it! We
could pretend like we were locals instead of tourists. And much to our
delight we were able to walk to Starbucks! Other than Starbucks, we
ate at all local places and we were never disappointed.

Birthday Lunch
Not a bad way to end our trip...grab a sandwich from a local
place...quick drive to the beach...and a magnificent view!

Don't Look if Blood Grosses You Out
It looks more painful than it is... We'll tell the story later :) For
now we are just morning the loss of my big toe nail. I'm not sure, but
I don't think toe nails are eternal, so it's ok.

Vacationland
We made it to Maine despite the weather's efforts to keep us out :) It
is beautiful here. Our first act of Maine culture was to grab a
lobster roll!

First, I'm in shock right now. I just uploaded this picture from home. Crazy! Second, not sure what caption to write for this picture. But it was taken by our good friend Marti who is a very talented photographer.
Third, are you proud of me for blogging?

What a strange life...
I realized tonight that we live in a unique community. Tonight, Taylor and I had dinner in the cafeteria with our friends, walked home, jumped in on a game of sand volleyball with a random group of students, followed by a short game of tennis. Who else had a tennis court and volleyball court right outside their front door? Taylor is now working on editing pictures, I just finished reading the Kite Runner. All the while, I am ease dropping on all the crazy conversations taking place in our lounge. Always entertaining. A strange life at times, but good.

Yep....thats my sister!
Most people that read my blog also read my sisters blog....so this is old news to you. But I want to share it anyway. Though I give my sister a hard time, she is amazing. Her compassion matched with her stubbornness :) is a voice for the voiceless that prevents us from looking away. Thanks Jody!

Callie the Coolest
My amazing friend, Callie, traveled from Portland, OR to spend a few days with us.
We drank a lot of coffee, ate a lot of food, and experienced lots deep belly laughs. Here are few pictures from our afternoon in Pittsburgh.
Callie is not use to Taylor always taking pictures. After 7 years with him, I've grown accustom.

D O N E
She made it! Yesterday was Joanna's last day at her job as a para-professional with Quaker Valley. Though she is her own biggest critic, she received gift cards, plants, and thank you notes from those she worked with; proving that she made a difference and will be missed. They wished the best for her in that they hoped she would get a full time position, but next year's plans are still to be determined. For now, we are both very excited it's the summer. Weddings, Family Vacations, and BBQs here we come!
p.s. Anyone who would like to come visit is more than welcome!

My Excuse....
for not blogging.

This is about 2/3 of the books I had to read this past semester. Yes, I know that my dad could probably read them in a day, but I'm not that talented. And yes, I know most of them are young adult books, but it still takes time. If you are interested in reading some young adult literature, I suggest:
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Fever 1793 by Laurie Anderson

We will return!
You all have been very patient with us. We apologize for the long absence of blogging. The school year is coming to an end. We almost have all the the boys kicked out of Pearce. Taylor gives them hugs and then tells them to "grow up" It has been a crazy few months to say the least. I have my last class for the semester on Tuesday night. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to work full time and take a full load of grad classes....another excuse for not blogging. Anyway, enough excuses, we will try to keep you updated on our exciting life.
Here is what we are looking forward to:
* Armstrong Family coming to visit in two weeks!
* Start of Wedding season..the first wedding on May 30th
* Lorenzen Family Vacation
* Finishing my grad program
* More weddings
* Sprague Family Vacation
* More weddings
* And then the summer will be over:(
